Feeling equally at home behind the decks as a resident at the Best Kept Secret nights around the UK at (Jazz Cafe, London/The Room, Leeds/The Cab, Edinburgh) and being the business brain behind the desk of one of the most innovative and versatile record labels in Europe. Best Kept Secret is rapidly becoming a mover and shaker on the global dance scene. Established in 2000 by owner and general manager Nick Mathews, Best Kept Secret started life as a booking agent for up-and-coming dj's and to represent "secret" niche and underground scenes like broken beat and Nu Jazz. It now boasts over 40 artists ranging from the feminine drum n bass sounds of Brazil's Fernanada Porto, Patricia Marx and the Sambaloco records crew, to internationally acclaimed acts like Kyoto Jazz Massive, Susumu Yakota and Nu Spirit Helsinki, as well as home talents like Bugz in the Attic, Restless Soul and UK legend Phil Asher.

Some of Mathews' recent notable achievements include headlining at the famous concorde 2 club in Brighton as well as dj'ing at the launch of a new (converted school) club on the outskirts of London that was rated by by Dj Mag as "the best club in the Midlands".
