In 1979, during the height of the Disco boom, Ottawas CKCU FM launched an alternative to the sea of commercial Disco shows on radio simply called DISCO RADIO featuring the writer ELORIOUS CAIN. As the music changed and diversified ELORIOUS expanded his show to a two hour format, renamed it THE GROOVE and proceeded to introduce new variations of DISCO like HIPHOP, ELECTRO, HOUSE MUSIC, ZOUK, SOUKOUSS and so many others.
After almost 30 years on the air, ELORIOUS CAIN has become an iconic and highly influencial dj that has eagerly dedicated his energies to mentoring successful djs like TEKNOBRAT and ALISON WONDERLAND, and inspiring a multitude of other djs including TREVOR WALKER, LANCE BAPTISTE, KODA, VH3 and JOHN DEACON to name just a few. THE GROOVE now unapologeticly bounces from style to style each week offering intoxicating mixes that might have been heard in a Washington DC disco back in 1975, a rave in Scotland around 1994, or in a Parisien lounge club yesterday. While only appearing as a guest dj in Ottawa, Montreal and Chicago, fans of his unique and limitless scope of discotheque music have been found throughout the world.
