The Mercury Lounge has been a Mecca for the arts in Canada's capital city of Ottawa, since its inception in November 1996. Its programming purports a musical vision steeped in the traditions of jazz and yet forward in its approach to encompass all its many derivatives.

Through its dynamic programming, the Mercury Lounge has successfully connected the dots, uniting jazz with contemporary electronic break beat culture. Within its walls the very philosophy of jazz, that of change, abounds. It serves not only as a club, and live venue, but also for poetry readings, dance performances and art gallery.

Schedule/Hours

Generally, 8pm – 3am Wednesday to Saturday

• Wednesdays, 9pm – 3am: Branches directed by Lance Baptiste + Weekly Guests
• Thursdays, 9pm – 3am: Muyafrofunke with Trevor Walker
• Fridays, 10pm – 3am: Elemental Soul with DJs Lance Baptiste and Jaxpratt
  + percussion with Emmanuel Printemps
• Saturdays, 10pm – 3am: Life Boogie with Trevor Walker
  + percussion with Emmanuel Printemps
